it still amazes me how lacking jw's are in social decorum.

i had 4 children while in the b0rg and not once did anyone say congrats.

Any good Christian who loves Jehovah's "simpleton-appointed organization" whould never have a baby in this world. You are supposed to wait until the paradise (I mean, just look at any of the pictures in the publications. FYI-Judging by the ages of the happy children, it will take 8-10 years to clean up the earth). If you love righteousness you wouldn't have a baby. It is only selfish people who would rather waste their time and $$ on children, rather than devoting their time and resources in devotion to the Golden Calf in NY. In fact, if they really loved Jehovah (read "WTS") they wouldn't get married in this system.

BennyK- if you don't stop making babies I will have no choice but to report your "Apostate" self to the loving brothers, so that they can give spiritual direction to your seed.

One upsmanship...

when i was a regular attender, most of my jw "friends" were pioneers because that is who we spent our days with, lol.

well, it always annoyed the crap out of me when the pioneers would act like they were so special when they were able to get a new publication prior to its arrival at the local kh.

they were basically bragging about their connections.

some of the pioneers i new engaged in prematital/ extramarital sex (appartenly oral isn't loose conduct or cheating), kind of like some of the elders i new of. and then there were 2 pio-boys who were good dope hook-ups

sad, how many you can look back on who were veiwed as spiritual for the hours of service be it at a meeting or the field, who's families needed them. i mean, really needed them.

it seemed to me that there were a number of con artist types of personalities i came across during my years there.

i am not referring to people who were actually doing anything illegal.

what i am referring to are people who were very adept at getting things out of other people.

far too many. there is one congragation in the milwaukee area in paticular that had an ex-marine elder that did what he could to disfellowship whomever he felt like dissfellowshipping. he would call a certain brother "queer" or "fag" for wearing a pink tie. (i have met other ex-marines in "the world" that were much more Christian than he, but he was so very Full Metal Jaket.) another one there would beat the crap out of his kids. there was a pioneer sister who would push people or stick her leg out to trip them. she was super catty with any feamle who was not a grandma (you know the type). she ended up having an affair on her elder husband w/ another brother. there was the one that did the "Michael Jackson" thing and invited boys back to his house. and the rest, save a very few, were just your average dope feind. scamming with their words.

BLOOD CASE IN NEW YORK

the 14 year old jw girl from vancouver who has cancer and needed a blood transfusion has been transferred to new york city.

i am afraid that she may be the next victim of he wts blood policy.

would anyone from the new york area please inform the media in new york about this case and watch the news and post what happens.

Notice the June 2000 article states blood components just not whole blood can be used. the clergy laity will undoubtedly change their minds again. It brings to mind the talks they would give letting us know all the ways we could "stumble our brother" or "bring reproach on Jehovah's name" and be "blood guilty".

I think we know who is really bringing reproach.

this site is also real good for a laugh. all of the "Golden Age" qoutes are wild. ah, primitive old light.

first of all, i want to apologize for all the mistakes i will probably make, i m not very good at english, it s very hard for me to think in another language different than my native tongue (spanish, of course!!)..

i ve been lurking through this forum for a long time but i didn t dare write here because of my lack of knowledge of the language but i changed my mind.

i think i can give a different point of view from other members of usa of uk, it seems that most of the members are from theses countries.

do the public talks and wt study tickle the ears of the jw faithful with buzzwords and phrases like jehovah's happy people and t rue christians?

if so, do you know any other phrases or buzzwords that the wtbts uses to give the dubs that fuzzy feeling?

Who didn't want to puke when you hear: "where else can you go to feel such warmth?" After I faded away, I have visited Catholic, Universal Unitarian and Lutheren churches; I feel equipted to say there are more than a few places you can go to feel much more "warmth" and without the baggage of constant judgement. The syrupy crap that driped off of the podium made a lot of us want to gag.

xJWs--Do You Read The Bible Anymore?

i was wondering how some of you (ones who have been out of the org for a while) feel when you read the bible, or have you tried reading just the bible--not using the new world translation.. i still do believe in a higher being and enjoy reading the bible.

but it's a very different prospective i have on it now, my eyes have been opened and i'm reading it by itself without any wbts literature to twist the meaning of it.

i would like to quote matthew 6:15 "but if you do not forgive men their sins, your father will not forgive your sins.

YES! I have a bit of a collection now, at least 14 (including 2 NWT-which I typically don't read). I still believe the bible is God's Word, but that there is no one true, perfect translation--and defenetly not theirs! In fact, ever since I received real "new Light" this fall/ winter things have gotten so much better.

Out of rehab

i was discharged today from the rehab center in the hospital.

there were 14 inpatients there and i was the least of their worries.

i would take 8-15 10/325 generic norco (think strong vicodin without too mcuh tylenol) a day and that's it.

living clean gets better. as cheesy as that "just for today" saying is-- it makes sense. i used to spend most days thinking that i should drink up/ smoke up/ swollow down whatever was left today. i told myself i'd worry about quitting later as long as i could get through theanxiety of that day. don't worry past today. that is to say, just worry about staying clean today. if you worry about staying clean for the rest of your life you may freak out and use. funny side note: a few weeks ago, the Narcotics Anonymous meeting i go to received 2 more x-jw's- we're up to 4.

I'm praying for "Brother WadBlow" who asked that my mother give him proof my father pulled back the covers to lay his 'healing hands' on us...before he would "permit" a divorce. I'm praying for all the brothers and sisters who PREY. Even the ones who bullied my sister and tried to gag her with her head covering when she read the bible on her own and developed a conscience. Even the ones who tried to rid the congergation of my brother over a German suit. *Old light, new light* I guess you couldn't see your flock clearly with the "beam" in your eye. Maybe if you had read God's word and not man's...Maybe if you had a conscience...Maybe if you walk with love...Maybe if you walked by faith and not by sight...Can you even hear the congregation over the white noise of your cover-ups, scandal and lies? Is it scary in the dark with the bulb burnt out? You tried to give me a new Messiah & you tried be "the Mouthpiece". But I've got a bible and a mediator, so i don't need any High Priest. You can not take away my God. & on the good days I'll remember to pray you see a little of His mercy while the rest of us watch as you piss your pants in Brooklyn.
